On the 24th broadcast of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Perfect Crown' (written by Yoo Ji-won · planned by Kang Dae-seon · produced by Jang Se-jung · directed by Park Jun-hwa, Bae Hee-young · produced by MBC, Kakao Entertainment), a sudden accident occurred to Seong Hee-ju's (IU) vehicle, and IAAN (Byeon Woo-seok) was injured in her place while stopping it.
Just as IAAN and Seong Hee-ju were about to grow closer, Min Jeong-woo (Noh Sang Hyun) found out that their marriage was a contractual marriage. Seong Hee-ju tried to persuade Min Jeong-woo, saying, "It's a contractual marriage. You give what you have to give, and you get what you have to get. Isn't this common around you? I have everything except my status. I have money, ambition and ability," but Min Jeong-woo suggested, "Then marry me."
IAAN, who had been listening outside, turned away. Then he kicked Seong Hee-ju out of her residence. Seong Hee-ju realized then, while talking with Min Jeong-woo, that IAAN was outside, but IAAN coldly pretended not to know.
IAAN said, "Someone touched your car. That's why the accident happened. It's under investigation. So, I have to change the plan," and added, "Let's call off the marriage." Seong Hee-ju protested, "Does Lady Dabi say that? The prince kept nagging, and if someone touched my car, I'm also a victim," but IAAN pushed Seong Hee-ju away, saying, "If you ignore every rule and marry many juniors like a mountain of enemies, the royal family won't survive."
Choi Hyun, who knew this, jumped up. He asked, "I can understand if the great duke's family kills someone. I think there must be a worthy reason for everything. But why did you call off the engagement?"
IAAN revealed the unspoken thought he couldn't bring himself to say, "Because I was afraid you'd die," and recalled that his mother had died in a car accident, showing that he had actually been worried about Seong Hee-ju.
