(Continued from interview ①) Beauty creator Yu Kkaet-ip (real name Yu Ye-rin) repeatedly expressed feelings of apology and gratitude toward Lee Joo-eun, the current partner of her ex-husband Choi Go-gi.
On the 23rd, when Yu Kkaet-ip was asked in a phone interview with OSEN about Choi Go-gi's girlfriend Lee Joo-eun, she opened by saying, "I didn't personally meet Joo-eun often one-on-one, but Sol-ip saw her often during custody visitation."
On the earlier broadcast of TV CHOSUN 'X's private life', Yu Kkaet-ip became tearful watching Choi Go-gi, Lee Joo-eun and their daughter Sol-ip together, creating a touching moment. She confessed, "I mentioned this before, but I worried a lot that I might be putting too heavy a burden of responsibility on Joo-eun. I often heard from Sol-ip. I heard a lot about how Joo-eun treats her and how well she is to her. So those things and emotions overlapped, I guess. I felt very sorry and grateful."
When asked whether she talked with the two of them after filming, she said, "There was nothing like that. (As Choi Go-gi) oppa said, this was Joo-eun's first time appearing in something like this, so she said, 'I think my face appeared too large,' he said. But from my point of view, she looked very pretty. So I said, 'What are you worrying about?'" describing a close relationship.
Meanwhile, seeing her daughter Sol-ip call Lee Joo-eun "Mom Joo-eun," Yu Kkaet-ip said on the broadcast that it felt "strange." Regarding this, Yu Kkaet-ip said, "At first I thought it was very strange, oddly beautiful. But as Sol-ip always asked, 'What did you do with Mom Joo-eun?' and talked about everyday things, I realized more quickly, 'Since I'm not there, Joo-eun is really doing that role so well,'" she said.
Even if they divorced and remarried, the fact that Yu Kkaet-ip is Sol-ip's mother would not change. Regarding this, Yu Kkaet-ip explained, "Yes. Sol-ip once told me, 'I'm glad I have a pretty mom.' I'm so thankful. Also, when Joo-eun sometimes came to pick up Sol-ip, she would greet me. We're not on the level of (friend) Rina, of course, but we greet each other and smile and she tells me, 'We did this with Sol-ip, we did that.'"
She added, "Once I had a pretty bad cold. When I was feeling a bit better, it was a day I was seeing Sol-ip after a long time, so I went. Joo-eun brought her out, and she said, 'I heard you were very sick,' and gave me throat candies and ssanghwatang good for colds. I accepted them thinking, 'I'll eat them well,' and was very thankful. I think Sol-ip will be influenced positively by seeing those moments."
Yu Kkaet-ip sighed and laughed, saying of Lee Joo-eun, "She is so kind. Truly a pure soul. She's so kind, I wonder how (Choi Go-gi) met someone like that, really.." When asked jokingly, "Do you feel she is more than Choi Go-gi deserves?" she laughed and said, "Of course. I only think, 'Treat her well.' I don't say that to him directly in case it irritates him." She urged, "He really must treat her well. While filming 'X's private life,' I kept thinking, 'Give her something like a ring, something good.' Luckily he seems to have given something more expensive than what I got. He must absolutely treat her well."
Children's emotional well-being is significantly affected by their parents' happiness. Regarding this, Yu Kkaet-ip said, "So I hope Mr. Go-gi and Ms. Joo-eun live very happily. I'm most worried about Joo-eun. She's so kind, and her MBTI is INFP. I'm really worried she might be hurt by comments after appearing on the show."
