The main cast of the film "Goonche" raised anticipation for the movie through a magazine pictorial.
On the 23rd, the film "Goonche" (director Yeon Sang-ho, presented/distributed by SHOWBOX, produced by Wowpoint·Smilegate, co-produced by Midnight Studio) released a magazine pictorial featuring lead actors Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Changwook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rock, and Go Soo photographed together.
"Goonche," which opens on May 21, is a film about isolated survivors inside a building sealed off by an unexplained infection who fight infected people evolving into unpredictable forms. The film, containing director Yeon Sang-ho's unique worldview known as the "Yeoniverse," drew attention from film fans from the production stage with its dazzling casting lineup. Moreover, being officially invited to the midnight screening section at the Cannes Film Festival this May has already been widely seen as proof of the film's artistic merit.
The released pictorial captures the tension and relationships the main cast of "Goonche" will portray in the film, drawing attention. In the group photo, Jun Ji-hyun and Koo Kyo-hwan face each other, suggesting an antagonistic dynamic in the story. In contrast, Ji Changwook wraps his arm around the shoulder of Kim Shin-rock, who is leaning against him, revealing a sibling relationship. Meanwhile, Shin Hyun-been and Go Soo, reported to be a married couple in the film, sparked curiosity by appearing separated from the group photo.
The two-person pictorials released together captured the characters' relationships with even greater intensity. Koo Kyo-hwan and Jun Ji-hyun stare at each other with taut gazes, and Ji Changwook and Kim Shin-rock leaning on each other emphasized a close sibling relationship that can rely on each other. Shin Hyun-been cradling Go Soo's head while looking directly at the camera added another layer of tension.
