Broadcaster Lee Young-ja opened up about a past ordeal in which she suffered extreme stress from floor noise conflicts. She confessed that because it was difficult to resolve directly, she ultimately chose to move, eliciting sympathy.
On the 23rd, the tvN STORY variety program "What good is leaving it?" featured cast members talking about neighborhood conflicts and everyday concerns. That day Lee Young-ja cautiously mentioned the floor noise problem she had experienced.
Lee Young-ja said, "Even a little movement would make the downstairs come up. I felt wronged even when I wore slippers." She added, "The repeated situation built up so much stress. Later I would walk sideways holding the wall. I couldn't live properly in my own home," revealing the shocking extent of her distress.
She recalled the frustrating situation, saying, "I brought Eun and Sook to the house and told them 'try walking once.' I told them to hold the wall and come, and the doorbell really rang," and shared anecdotes she experienced with Kim Sook and Song Eun I. She continued, "It seemed the noise wasn't actually caused by us. It sounded like noise coming from the overall structure of the house," and said, "It couldn't be resolved, so I ended up moving."
Lee Young-ja said, "Because I'm a celebrity, they told me not to go directly or respond. They said it could make things worse," conveying the realistic hardships faced as a public figure. Even personal conflicts had to be handled cautiously.
Hearing this, Lee Geum-hee offered a softer solution. She said, "If it's about the children, I would like to see their faces," and added, "Rather than the downstairs owner going directly, introducing the child naturally through a neighborhood meeting or neighbors is also a way." She emphasized the importance of empathy and communication, saying, "Even if adults get heated, seeing a child's face can change one's feelings."
