Actor Lee Nam-hee has died.
According to the bereaved family, Lee Nam-hee passed away from a chronic illness at about 5 p.m. on the 22nd. She was 64.
Lee Nam-hee, who debuted in 1983 in the play "Antigone," met audiences over more than 40 years appearing in "Man's Impulse," "Othello," "Werther/Faust," "Yon," and "Hamlet."
The late actor was recognized for her acting, receiving the 1998 Korea Theatre Association acting award, the 2011 Korea Theater Awards for best actor, and the 2012 Dong-A Theatre Award for acting, and she continued her activities across stage and screen in the film "The Priests," "Steel Rain 2: Summit," and the dramas "Yookryongi Narsha," "Doctor Prisoner," "Misty," and "Old School Intern."
In particular, last year she also gave a passionate performance on stage in the play "Death of a Salesman." According to the bereaved family, she was reportedly preparing to appear on stage until recently, showing she had not lost her passion for the stage. Many have expressed their condolences after the sudden news of her death due to a chronic illness.
Meanwhile, the late actor's wake has been set up in Room 15 of Severance Hospital Sinchon Funeral Hall. The funeral ceremony will be held at 10:20 a.m. on the 24th, and the burial site is the Seoul Municipal Crematorium.
