Director Maggie Kang was born in Korea and raised in Canada and is a Korean-descended director who began her career as a story artist at global studios. She directed Netflix's K-pop Demon Hunters, leading its box office success and attracting worldwide attention; the work recorded more than 500 million cumulative streams, achieving one of Netflix's highest-ever results, and she established herself as a global director with numerous achievements on the international stage, including two wins at the 98th Academy Awards and the best animated feature win at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.
In particular, director Maggie Kang has been noted for her sensuous visuals and delicate detail and is known as an artist loved by high-end brands. She continues to expand her influence in the fashion world, including gracing magazine covers.
K-pop Demon Hunters is a work that presented a new trend to the global content market with original storytelling that combines K-pop and a Korean worldview.
