Seo Kyoung-duk, who actively promotes Korea, once again took a swipe at China's secret peeking.
MBC drama Perfect Crown has become a craze at home and abroad, and some Chinese netizens are secretly watching it again, causing controversy.
Currently the drama is gaining great popularity worldwide through the global streaming service Disney+.
On China's largest review site Douban, a review page for Perfect Crown was created, and as of the 23rd about 10,000 people had already participated in the rating and left about 4,000 reviews.
Because Disney+ is not officially available in China, it is believed they watched Perfect Crown illegally and then left reviews.
Seo Kyoung-duk, a professor at Seongsin Women's University, said, "If you search for Perfect Crown on China's largest portal Baidu, you can easily find free viewing sites."
The professor criticized, "Now 'illegal viewing' has become commonplace in China," adding, "What's more astonishing is that they feel no shame at all."
He stressed, "It is time for Chinese authorities to step up," saying, "They must actively publicize the problems of their citizens' illegal acts and take measures so this never happens again."
Previously, China was also criticized for secretly and illegally watching hit Netflix series that are not serviced there, such as Squid Game and The Glory.
