Rising actress Kim Chae-eun has been cast in MBC's new drama "Fifties Professionals," marking a new acting transformation.
According to her agency on the 23rd, Kim Chae-eun will play Yeji Lee, an accounting staff member at Yeongseon Steel, in MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama airing its first episode on May 22 (Fri) at 9:50 p.m., "Fifties Professionals" (planned by Kwon Seong-chang / directed by Han Dong-hwa / written by Jang Won-seop / produced by Jumbo Film, Studio Dragon), bringing energy to the series.
"Fifties Professionals" tells the story of three men who may seem ordinary but once had a bit of swagger, who are set in motion again by a fateful incident. Even if they have been worn down by the world and their bodies have rusted, their loyalty and instincts remain intact; it is a salty action comedy about "real pros" who have lived through 50% of their lives.
In the drama, Yeji Lee, played by Kim Chae-eun, is the household pillar of Yeongseon Steel and possesses a tsundere charm, hiding a warm heart beneath a seemingly indifferent, blunt manner of speaking. Based on her fresh look and delicate emotional range, Kim Chae-eun is expected to portray Yeji Lee as a fully dimensional character.
In particular, the project has drawn attention with a lineup of reliable actors whose names alone inspire confidence, including Shin Ha Kyun, Oh Jung-se, Heo Sung-tae, as well as Kim Sang-kyung, Kim Shin-rock, Kwon Yul, and Lee Hak-ju.
