The film "Gunchae," officially invited to the Cannes Film Festival (director Yeon Sang-ho, distributed by SHOWBOX, produced by WOWPOINT·Smilegate, co-produced by Midnight Studio), has drawn attention by unveiling a new poster.
Yeon Sang-ho's new film "Gunchae," confirmed to open on May 21, released six character posters capturing the six different auras of its cast.
Inside a building sealed off by a mysterious infectious outbreak, the film "Gunchae," in which isolated survivors face infected people who evolve in unpredictable ways, released character posters depicting the solemn appearances of six people—Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Changwook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rock, and Go Soo—raising anticipation among prospective viewers.
The released character posters leave a strong impression by portraying each person's individuality against a backdrop of infected people tangled together to form a massive wall. The sight of infected people reaching out as if about to pounce creates tension, while the distinct appearances of the six different people draw the eye.
First, the strong figure of Kwon Se-jung (Jun Ji-hyun), standing confidently before the infected, reveals a resolute momentum that suggests she will lead the survivors to escape as their leader, making viewers look forward to her role. In contrast, Seo Young-cheol (Koo Kyo-hwan), wearing handcuffs and wearing an enigmatic expression, heightens curiosity about his identity as the person who caused the outbreak based on his own beliefs. From Choi Hyun-seok (Ji Changwook), bloodied and gripping a pole, you can feel his will to fight the infected to the end.
Also, the sight of Gong Seol-hee (Shin Hyun-been) wearing protective gear foreshadows her strenuous efforts to resolve the situation from the outside. Then, Choi Hyun-hee (Kim Shin-rock), whose eyes show bewilderment as if seeing something unbelievable, and Han Gyu-seong (Go Soo), with an unwavering expression, add intrigue about the different choices people make when faced with life-or-death crises.
The different reactions of the survivors facing the threat of the infected heighten expectations for the story they will tell.
The new film from zombie master Yeon Sang-ho, "Gunchae," which promises the powerful synergy of trusted actors from Jun Ji-hyun to Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Changwook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rock and Go Soo, premiered first at the Cannes Film Festival and will meet audiences in Korea on May 21.<
