Ha Won-mi, the wife of Choo Shin-soo, attempted an eating show featuring an extremely spicy pork cutlet.
On the 22nd, a video titled "I ate the spiciest pork cutlet in the world and almost went to the emergency room" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Ha Won-mi'.
Recently returned from the United States, Ha Won-mi took on the challenge of becoming an eating-show YouTuber without Choo Shin-soo knowing. She said, "To be honest, I really like eating shows. I want to become an eating-show YouTuber," and issued a challenge to the spicy pork cutlet eating trend that has been popular for several years.
Ha Won-mi said, "They said it was extremely spicy. I thought, a pork cutlet is a pork cutlet even if it's spicy, so I decided to try it. And my husband had just arrived. When I said, 'I'm not dying, it's a pork cutlet, I'm going to do an eating show,' he said, 'You're crazy,' " relaying her husband's reaction.
She went on, "My husband recently ordered four chicken nuggets, and the burger place said they had 'I'm dying' pork cutlet sauce, so he ordered it without thinking and tried it and said he almost died. He said even just dipping it in that sauce was too much."
She added, "Actually I like spicy food. What if I become the new star of the eating-show YouTuber world?" expressing her expectations.
Before the challenge, Ha Won-mi showed nervousness after hearing warnings such as "you could faint" and "severe stomach cramps could cause shock." But after eating the spicy pork cutlet, she said, "I'm okay?" and calmly continued the eating show for nearly 13 minutes.
Ha Won-mi explained, "It's not like I'm going to die. To describe it, when the first piece goes in the spiciness is 100. That 100 leaves 90 and 10 remains. If you eat the second piece it stacks to 20, and the more you eat the slightly stronger it becomes."
Partway through the eating show, Ha Won-mi said, "I'm dizzy," and declared she would stop without overdoing it. Then, as if a late signal hit her, she clutched her stomach and fell down saying, "My stomach hurts," startling everyone. Breaking out in a cold sweat, the crew urgently handed her ice cream. The situation Choo Shin-soo had worried about occurred. Seeing no sign of improvement, the production team planned to go buy medicine, and Ha Won-mi tried to neutralize it with ice cream, saying, "I'm okay."
Fortunately recovered, Ha Won-mi said, "I was really very dizzy earlier," and told subscribers, "Excessive pride in handling spicy food can harm your health. Please be careful."
