BTS is continuing an apparent "infinite sprint" on the Billboard charts.
On the 21st (local time), according to the latest chart (April 25) released by U.S. music outlet Billboard, BTS's fifth studio album "ARIRANG" (ARIRANG) title track "SWIM" set a major record by ranking No. 1 for four consecutive weeks simultaneously on both the Global 200 and Global (excluding U.S.) charts.
BTS's achievement goes beyond simply topping the charts. Except for the intro themed on the majestic ringing of the Seongdeokdaewangnew bell, all 13 vocal tracks on the album firmly held their places on the Global 200 chart, demonstrating strong staying power. In particular, on the Global (excluding U.S.) chart, all the album tracks landed within the top 50, once again proving BTS's unrivaled influence in the global music market.
Their performance on the main chart Hot 100 is also dazzling. The title track "SWIM" ranked 10th, holding a spot in the top 10, while four songs including "Body to Body" (No. 69), "2.0" (No. 88) and "Hooligan" (No. 90) have remained on the chart for a month. The album "ARIRANG" also rose to No. 3 on the main album chart Billboard 200, showing strong performance in both digital and physical sales.
Looking at detailed chart results, BTS's all-around qualities stand out even more. They ranked No. 1 for four consecutive weeks on digital song sales, No. 2 on top album sales, No. 3 on vinyl albums, No. 4 on top streaming albums, and No. 5 on Artist 100, occupying top positions across major indicators and solidifying their reputation as 21st century pop icons.
The world tour "BTS WORLD TOUR "ARIRANG"", which grandly opened on the 9th at the main stadium of Goyang Sports Complex, will run in 34 cities worldwide for a total of 85 shows. This is the largest number of shows ever for a Korean solo artist tour. Having already performed for more than 240,000 spectators through the Goyang and Tokyo concerts, BTS is now heading to the United States. Starting with performances at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium on the 25th, 26th and 28th, they will open the full-scale North American leg of the tour.
