'Radio Star' Ki Tae-young revealed his loving side.
On the 22nd episode of MBC variety show 'Radio Star' (hereafter 'Ras'), as part of the 'Papa GO! All Daddy Project' special, Ryu Jin, Ki Tae-young, Lucky and Song Ha-bin appeared.
On that day Jang Do-youn asked, "Are you an intense devoted lover who only knows family?" Ki Tae-young said, "Honestly, my outlook on life was formed in middle and high school. What kind of wife I want to meet and how I want to live, so in the past I was heavily criticized by news reports saying I didn't meet my wife after seeing her face. I was just being honest," he said.
He added, "For me, conversation matters more than looks. I have an ideal type," and explained, "Because family is the most important to me, the point was what kind of person she would be as my wife and what kind of person she would be as the mother of our children."
Above all, Ki Tae-young said, "After marriage, I arranged my work to focus on family. I planned everything around family. I tried to structure things so I could spend time with the children. I've been doing that for 15 years. I'm always thankful that I had a lot of time with the children," which provoked surprise.
He continued, "One of the main reasons I've exercised from the past is that the greatest duty of a parent is health. Children grow up only for a time, so I wanted to be the one who spends the most time with them then," he added.
Meanwhile, Ki Tae-young drew attention by saying one 6,000-won T-shirt is enough. He confessed, "I don't shop much. I don't have many reasons to spend money, and I don't drink or smoke. I don't go out to spend money. I only buy gifts for myself on birthdays or anniversaries."
Saying he doesn't spend money on himself, Ki Tae-young said, "People criticize me for wearing relaxed T-shirts, but I buy them for 6,000 won or 8,000 won during sales. Even wearing a 6,000-won T-shirt in everyday life is perfectly fine," adding, "I maintain my body through health management. I like to keep it simple and wear a cotton T-shirt with jeans."
Ki Tae-young said he finds happiness only in what his wife and children enjoy. Hearing this, Kim Gu Ra asked, "How much is your monthly allowance?" Ki Tae-young revealed, "I found that I spent 1 million won a year. For personal spending I spend 1 million won a year. I would buy a cup of coffee or take someone out to eat once," which surprised the audience.
He said, "At some point I stopped having unnecessary meetings. I use that time to study or spend time with my family. I have no appointments after 6 p.m.," adding that even if his wife Yujin told him to go out, he prefers to spend time with the children. Kim Gu Ra admired, "Mr. Ki Tae-young is too big a vessel for us to hold."
