Former Chungju man and YouTuber Kim Seon-tae candidly revealed his feelings about the donation controversy and malicious comments.
On the 21st, a video titled 'Simmons bed promotion' was posted on Kim Seon-tae's YouTube channel.
That day Kim Seon-tae personally explained everything from the reason for collaborating with the bed brand to his plan for using the revenue. First, he said he would donate a bed and mattress worth around 20 million won, received through this collaboration, to neighbors in need. Kim Seon-tae said, "I plan to donate a bed and mattress worth more than 20 million won."
But what followed was unexpected. Kim Seon-tae said frankly, "The bigger reason is actually to make money. I have to make money so I can donate." He added, "I am not buying things to donate. I want to live well. Donation is secondary," not hiding his realistic intentions.
He also addressed various perceptions surrounding him recently. Kim Seon-tae said, "They ask if the numbers are correct, how much I earned, whether I earned a lot, and I earned a lot." However, he said the exact amount is private. He also said, "I will announce the donation later," and explained, "I don't want to create controversy while doing something good."

In the latter part of the video he lay on the sponsored bed and elicited laughter. Kim Seon-tae said, "I have severe insomnia so I am very interested in beds," and reacted realistically, "Even if it's sponsored I don't think I'll suddenly sleep well. It won't be fixed easily." Kim Seon-tae said, "Because I have severe insomnia and get a lot of attention, things can get bigger than intended," and lamented, "Anyway, it's my fault." Finally he said, "I will make more content from now on," expressing his intent to continue activities.
