Actor Lee Hoon, who expressed his earnest desire for work on 'Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller,' reflected on the flood of reactions after his broadcasting appearance.
On the 21st Lee Hoon told OSEN, "I have been very desperate and struggling, but after talking on the show I feel somewhat relieved," expressing his feelings.
Earlier, Lee Hoon appeared on the KBS Joy Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller broadcast the day before and said, "A drama I was filming in 2024 fell through, and a drama scheduled to be filmed in the United States in 2025 was postponed indefinitely due to various issues. This year's project was also postponed indefinitely because of production cost problems," and he admitted he was struggling with whether to continue as an actor in his 30th year since debut.
He said that because of the cancellation of projects he has had a three-year gap in his acting activities and pondered, "If acting really doesn't work out, I might give it up decisively. The problem is that work does come in." He said work wasn't completely absent but it wasn't progressing. Lee Hoon said, "While preparing I can't do other work, so I end up blocked financially. I feel like I'm going to starve to death," and he appealed, "The hardest thing is being unable to quit but also unable to continue. It feels like tormented hope."
He added that he recently even went to Germany to pursue a Hollywood entry. He said, "In 2022 I was fortunate to audition in Hollywood and appeared in a project. It was a story where representative killers from each country gather to assassinate the protagonist, and I played the Korean representative killer. I lost 10 kg for the role because they wanted a sharp feeling, and the drama director who saw that work proposed a new project but it was canceled due to production cost issues," adding to the regret.
Upon hearing this, Seo Jang-hoon said, "I have known Lee Hoon since I was young. He is a dependable person. The problem is he has a very strong pride and is stubborn. Now he should know how to let go appropriate to his age," offering advice. He continued, "In the past he might have waited for casting offers, but if it were me I would actively appeal to get a role I like. Once you start looking for work yourself, word of that might make people seek you out first," he said. Lee Hoon replied, "I am desperate. I can even take auditions. I also won that acting award. Call me anytime," repeatedly conveying his earnestness.
