Broadcaster Defconn compared chefs Choi Kang-rok and Kim Do-yoon to contestants on I'm SOLO.
On the 17th, a press conference for SBS's new variety show Choi Kang-rok's Road: 식포일러 was held at a cafe in Sangam-dong, Mapo District, Seoul. The conference was attended by chefs Choi Kang-rok and Kim Do-yoon, singer Defconn, and producers Son Jeong-min and Ha Jeong-seok, who talked about the show.
Choi Kang-rok's Road: 식포일러 is a new-concept gourmet variety show in which true food lovers travel to every corner of the country, claiming to be "taste spoilers (식포일러)" based on their own experiences and detailed cooking secrets, and revealing hidden secrets of flavor.
On Choi Kang-rok's Road: 식포일러, two-time winner of cooking survival programs Choi Kang-rok and Michelin 1-star chef Kim Do-yoon appear to offer high-level culinary insight as experts in creating flavor. Joining them is Defconn, rumored to be the entertainment industry's representative gourmet, adding depth to the sincere gourmet talk they will present.
That day Defconn, speaking about his impressions while filming with the two chefs, said, "I'm not someone who knows a lot about cooking, nor am I a cooking show host, so I don't know much, but the two of them are as charming as contestants on I'm SOLO."
He continued, "Chef Choi Kang-rok is like Yeong-cheol, and Chef Kim Do-yoon is like Ok-sun. Chef Kim Do-yoon is an onion, but like a rainbow-colored onion; I was amazed on set. I thought, 'What a rare person this is.' I think you will probably smile when you see them," he said.
Defconn added, "There is the pleasure of getting to know the two through taste, and you can also enjoy the aspect of tasting people. Shows where close friends travel together are fun, but this seems to have a different temperament from those programs. I think you'll feel a different vibe when you watch it," he said.
Meanwhile, SBS's new variety show 식포일러 will air Tuesday the 21st at 9 p.m.
