One Hundred Label denied the group's The Boyz (THE BOYZ) request to terminate their exclusive contract and the lawsuit accusing the agency's CEO of embezzlement.
On the evening of the 21st, One Hundred Label (abbreviated One Hundred) issued an official statement denying the accusation related to The Boyz's prosecution of Cha Ga-won for embezzlement, saying, "We can no longer tolerate the artist's legal representative's distortion of facts and malicious manipulation of public opinion."
One Hundred said first that regarding the embezzlement charges against Cha Ga-won, "the police investigation team's refusal to consolidate the cases proves the legal contradiction of the very fact of the complaint," it claimed. After the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul filed the embezzlement case, it requested consolidation with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Metro Investigation Unit, Financial Crime Investigation Division 1, Team 6, which is currently investigating Cha Ga-won, but the request was ultimately denied, and therefore "because the other ownership of the property was not recognized," it said the complaint was meant to smear.
One Hundred also said, "An accounting firm's audit confirmed 'no embezzlement found'," calling The Boyz's embezzlement allegation false and stressing a response that will exhaust all legal measures, including charges of false accusation.
Furthermore, it said the deepening of the conflict between the two sides is judged to "stem from the intentions of the artist's legal representative." It alleged that The Boyz's legal representative filed for an injunction citing the imminent concert dates and requested a disclosure period of more than one day, using media play to buy time.
In response, One Hundred cited completing payment of the exclusive contract fee and settlement payments and supporting The Boyz's full-group activities as examples, emphasizing that it has faithfully fulfilled its duties as an agency. It added, "We will never compromise with unjust acts that incite artists to attack the company," and, "We will fight to the end to reveal the truth in court and to protect our company's honor and the artists."
