Actor Dylan Sprouse, who is married to model Barbara Palvin, physically subdued a burglar who tried to break into his home.
Recent foreign outlets, including the New York Post and Page Six, reported that Sprouse physically subdued a man who tried to break into his Hollywood Hills dwellings, then threatened him with a gun and held him until police arrived.
According to the reports, Sprouse confronted the male suspect who targeted the dwelling at midnight Friday, fought him directly, threw him to the ground and subdued him. He was reportedly startled by the violent struggle but was not injured.
Afterwards, Sprouse's wife Barbara Palvin called 911. Media also reported that Sprouse subdued the suspect with a gun.
The Los Angeles Police Department said it received a report of a theft around 12:37 a.m. Friday in the 2400 block of Holli Drive, and the suspect was arrested. A released photo showed the man being taken into custody by police outside the home.
After the robbery, Sprouse attended the New York premiere of the film "The Devil Wears Prada 2" on Monday with his wife and was asked about the incident. He laughed and said, "I'm just glad both of us are safe," adding, "I think it was kind of funny."
Sprouse said, "I'm not really someone who believes it's 'too soon.' When something happens, I tend to laugh right away," and added, "Life needs some leeway and humor. Fortunately no one was hurt, and because there was no greater violence, it's okay."
His wife Palvin added, "We are getting through this trauma with jokes and laughter."
Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin were married in July 2023.
