'Death Game 2: The ultimate winner' revealed the contestants' uncommon determination and resolve ahead of the season 2 release.
Netflix (Netflix) daily variety show 'Death Game 2: The ultimate winner' (directed by Kwon Dae-hyun, produced by TEO, hereafter Death Game 2) will be released at 5 p.m. on the 22nd (Wed), already raising curiosity.
'Death Game 2' is a brainy final match that crowns a single ultimate winner each week through a tournament format. Hong Jin-ho, DinDin, IVE Ga-eul, Pengsu, Park Sung-woong, Seo Chul-gu, Yuri-sa, Heo Seong-beom and others who were active in season 1 will gather again to compete in tournament matches based on the number of seeds, the symbol of victory.
In this regard, Death Game 2 released written interviews with the contestants. The contestants recalled impressive moments from season 1 and expressed their resolve for season 2, igniting another fierce brain war. The unusual determination of Hong Jin-ho, DinDin and Ga-eul, who achieved two consecutive wins in season 1, stands out, and the performance of the new cast is also a major point of interest.

Q1. Who was the most memorable moment or opponent in season 1? Why? And please tell us your mindset and resolve ahead of season 2.
DinDin: I remember the 'Doubles Plan' game I played against Heo Seong-beom. I predicted the card my opponent would play and called double, and the thrill when I was right is unforgettable. I want to show a more developed side than what I showed in season 1. This is my first and probably my last survival program, 'Death Game,' so I want to finish on a high note.
Hong Jin-ho: Personally, the first match I played against Lee Sedol is the most memorable. Although Lee Sedol was in a different field from me, everyone acknowledges that he is a top player. So the moment before facing Lee Sedol, when anticipation and worry mixed, is particularly memorable. Fortunately, having achieved two consecutive wins in season 1, I have the ambition to do even better in season 2. I think momentum is very important in competition, so winning the first match and maintaining a winning streak is the biggest factor. This season, too, I will try to beat whoever I face.
Park Sung-woong: I remember the moment I played the mine of oblivion game with lawyer Yang Na-rae. At the time, I had left only one treasure and went straight, but I regretted my choice to turn left to get the mine score while watching the broadcast. 'If only it hadn't been that,' I thought. I will enter the loser's revival match with the resolve to become the winner. Whoever the opponent is, it is ultimately myself who is the enemy.
Ga-eul: I remember the match against lawyer Yang Na-rae. I recall being particularly nervous in that match, and the lawyer was extremely cautious as well. The tension of the intense mind games that unfolded in silence is still vivid. Above all, playing a brain game against the lawyer was an experience I could not easily have in daily life, so it was very exciting and fun. Even after season 1 ended, the matches kept coming to mind, leaving a strong aftertaste. Since there are not many opportunities in daily life to be so immersed in a match, I am really looking forward to feeling that tension and excitement again. Having gotten another chance, I will plan my strategy more meticulously this time and climb higher than last season to show a good performance. Fighting!
Pengsu: I remember the tense mind game with senior Yuri-sa. During the 'Love wins all' game, when senior Yuri-sa bluffed with two-love, I folded with animal intuition, and watching the broadcast was exhilarating. I will shake up the Death Game stage like a boss fish.
Seo Chul-gu: I remember the moments during the 'Suspects' game against older brother DinDin when I shouted 'unlawful to arrest.' Both DinDin and I were cautiously watching each other's cues, but I said 'I can't stand it' and first shouted 'unlawful to arrest.' I still can't forget the feeling when the dealer told me it was correct. It was more impressive because an aggressive approach that usually doesn't suit me worked in that match. I will enjoy the match. Winning is the most fun.
Heo Seong-beom: DinDin (older brother). He is such a great and fun player that he is memorable. I knew he was funny, but he showed that side so well during the match that I became even more of a fan. I'm normally the type to concentrate quietly on the game, but going with the flow sometimes made me get carried away. He was a fun player who is good at psychological warfare and has ability. I have had survival experience in the past, but I feel I have only now developed some perspective on the game. Although not long has passed since filming season 1, I realized a lot in the meantime and feel I have grown a lot in gameplay, so I want to show that. I will be Heo Seong-beom, a player who pursues a 'meaningful victory' while playing in ways that offer viewers a variety of entertainment.
Yuri-sa: In season 1 I faced Pengsu, whom I usually like, but luck did not favor me and I sadly lost to a very skilled opponent. I regret not showing my proper form because I played too passively. If I get another chance, I want a revenge match with Pengsu. It's a pity that I was eliminated in just one game in season 1. Many contestants I wanted to face appeared later, and many games looked fun, so I felt a lot of regret while watching the broadcast. In season 2, I will rise to the top with the determination that elimination means the end.
▲ Below is the full Q&A with the new contestants (KwakTube, Park Hee-seon, KiiiKiii Jiyu)
Q1. As a new player, what did you prepare to face the existing players from season 1?
Park Hee-seon: I binge-watched Death Game season 1 to understand the tendencies of the existing players and analyzed game styles and flow.
Jiyu: Guts. And I tried to identify what games appeared in season 1 in advance, understand the overall atmosphere a bit more and participate.
KwakTube: I worked to create a twist by showing a smart image. For example, I prepared by playing board games or rewatching previous broadcasts to review the flow.
Q2. Tell us your mindset and resolve for participating in 'Death Game.' And what special points should viewers expect?
Jiyu: I'm so honored and excited to be able to appear on this brain-game survival program. Since I'm participating anyway, I will play with all my heart to make sure I win... it's my twist charm. Expect to see me play through to the end without losing.
KwakTube: I will shed my previous image and show a much smarter side. Please look forward to my play. I would appreciate it if you enjoy seeing me insert humor while checking opponents even in tense brain games.
Park Hee-seon: Honestly, I was very fearful because such formidable people were appearing, but I summoned courage with the mindset that 'you never know until you try.' I will go at it to the end. Because I'm not perfect, I think I can show more unpredictable play. I hope you watch for that.
