Group Blackpink member Jisoo issued an official position regarding a family controversy, and the departure coverage was canceled.
Blackpink member Jisoo was scheduled to showcase airport fashion in front of reporters before departing for Paris, France, via Incheon International Airport on the 22nd.
However, on the 21st, a day before the departure, a representative said, "The scheduled airport departure coverage of Ms. Jisoo has been canceled due to unavoidable internal circumstances."
Although it was reported to be due to unavoidable internal circumstances, attention is drawn to the fact that Jisoo announced an official position on the aftermath of the family privacy controversy on the 20th.
Jisoo appointed KIM&CHANG as her legal representative. Attorney Eun Hyun-ho said, "We express our grave regret that acts that associate the artist and BLISU with the family-related matters of the BLISU-affiliated artist, which are spreading through recent media reports, online communities and social media, or that damage their reputation based on untrue information, are being carried out indiscriminately."
Jisoo's side said, "The matter currently being raised is completely unrelated to the artist and BLISU, and many of the items being circulated online are unverified speculation or clear falsehoods," and "The artist began trainee life at a young age, became independent early and has lived apart from her family for a long period, and is in a position where she could not have known about or been involved in the private life of the person in question."
They continued, "The artist did receive limited advice and acted as a conduit for communication from family members to consult with parties during BLISU's preparation for establishment, but from then until now no family member has received compensation from BLISU or participated in decision-making. Since then, it has been run completely independently with no relation to family members."
Jisoo's side said, "BLISU and the artist are not providing any financial or legal support to the person in question and have no plans to provide such support in the future. They are also not engaging in any exchange or involvement related to this matter," and warned, "Nevertheless, continuously spreading false information, or tying the artist's name, likeness or image to unrelated matters for consumption and dissemination, is a clear infringement of rights and defamation. We sternly warn that we will immediately take all possible civil and criminal legal actions against those who disseminate false information and create or distribute defamatory posts, who use the artist's name, likeness or image in unrelated matters, and who publish or create content based on speculative assertions without fact-checking."
Meanwhile, Jisoo gave a passionate performance as Seo Mi-rae in the Netflix series Boyfriend on Demand, which was released in March.
