Girl group UNCHILD (언차일드) Park Ye-eun debuted as an idol after 'I-Land 2'.
UNCHILD (Park Ye-eun, Hiki, Tina, Ako, Lee Bon, Na Ha-eun) held a debut single "We Are UNCHILD (위 아 언차일드)" release showcase on the 21st at Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
HYBE-UP Entertainment named the girl group UNCHILD, introduced about six years after STAYC, by combining the prefix 'UN-' that flips ordinary expectations with 'CHILD (PERSON),' meaning someone not confined by any standard. They express the team's unique identity with a tadpole symbol that defies conventional molds and declared a break from existing stereotypes and standards, raising expectations that they will present a new paradigm for the fifth generation.
Park Ye-eun participated in Mnet's "I-Land 2," which first aired in 2024. Before appearing, Park Ye-eun drew attention on YouTube and social media as the "entrance exam goddess." In a sudden street interview she shyly answered "5 points" to the question "On a scale of 1 to 10, how many points would you give your appearance?" and that video surpassed 4 million views on YouTube.
Although Park Ye-eun was noted as a visual member, she was eliminated after not making the final 12 who would head to the final count, leaving disappointment. Afterward, Park Ye-eun signed an exclusive contract with HYBE-UP Entertainment and finally achieved her dream of debuting as part of UNCHILD.
Park Ye-eun said, "After being eliminated I had a lot of worries, but I'm overwhelmed and deeply moved to be debuting with six members. I will work even harder going forward."
She added, "STAYC senior Yoon told me there was no one to give them advice when they debuted, so it was hard, and producer Rado told me to take good care of my health because my body is weak. At first I was full of worries, but they told me they only look forward to the future."
UNCHILD's debut single "We Are UNCHILD" will be released through various online music sites at 6 p.m. on the 21st.
