'Perfect Crown' boasted hot buzz before the broadcast and continued to draw attention after the full premiere.
On the 21st, Good Data Corporation released via Fundex the TV-OTT drama buzz rankings for the third week of April 2026, and MBC's Friday-Saturday drama Perfect Crown ranked No. 1 for two consecutive weeks.
Perfect Crown is a drama that portrays a destiny-breaking, class-defying romance between a chaebol who has everything but is annoyingly only a commoner, and a prince who is the king's son but cannot have anything and is saddened by it, set in 21st-century constitutional monarchy Korea. Singer and actor IU plays the title role Seong Hee-ju, and actor Byeon Woo-seok, who caused a sensation with Lovely Runner, appears as Prince Ian, the king's son who cannot have anything.
This work was especially notable for the rare record of rising to No. 1 in buzz even before it aired. After broadcast, it appears to have realized expectations by topping the buzz rankings for two consecutive weeks. In addition, IU and Byeon Woo-seok have respectively held the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the drama cast buzz rankings for three consecutive weeks, driving interest in the series.
According to Good Data Corporation, Perfect Crown ranked No. 1 not only in drama search reactions but also across all age-group search responses. Recently in Perfect Crown, Seong Hee-ju and Prince Ian have accelerated the romance with events such as a wall kiss and a kiss-time event during a baseball stadium date.
