"The manly man's travel method" is a bromance travelogue featuring Korea's representative manly men Choo Sung Hoon and Kim Jong Kook, and the youngest Daesung, the so-called middle man(?). It is expected to capture the real travel stories of ultra-masculine males enjoying themselves by instinct.
When asked what different image from the friendly persona he has shown on YouTube and elsewhere he would show, Choo Sung Hoon said, "Actually, I have visited many good restaurants on my YouTube channel, and I had thought of going to the regions featured on 'The manly man's travel method.' They stole that. They took all my ideas," he confessed, drawing laughter.
He said, "We went to many local restaurants that people really don't go to and places with various sights. In fact, when I went alone to eat and go, I went with Cha Seung-won at 'Cha-ga-ne,' but showing me going only with my younger brother is a first-time picture. Although there's not a big age gap with Jongkook, he is still one year younger, so if you watch their chemistry well, I think many funny scenes will come out," explaining the distinction.
In particular, Kim Jong Kook addressed the nickname "Kim Jong Kook who catches Choo Sung Hoon," saying, "Rather than that, because I often act like the younger brother who grumbles at the older brother and because viewers have seen that side of me when I did my channel, that kind of talk came out. Basically, when we do content, we have fun and pick at each other, and because the older brother accepts it well, a fun chemistry came out. I think that chemistry came out well in 'The manly man's travel method' too. The older brother teases me as much as I tease him, so when you watch 'The manly man's travel method' you see two middle-aged men bickering, which is different from what ordinary celebrities do, so I think it adds to the viewing fun," he pointed out as a viewing point.
When asked whether there were any differences in travel style since they were working together on a fixed variety show for the first time, Choo Sung Hoon said, "There wasn't anything particularly different; we both like exercise and I mainly eat protein and meat. The main difference is that I don't eat vegetables. I mostly eat meat, so that's the only difference. Also, I drink alcohol a little, but Jongkook doesn't drink much, and that was different. Actually, talking over drinks is the most fun, isn't it? But because he doesn't drink, it wasn't as fun," he said frankly, drawing laughter.
Kim Jong Kook snapped back, "It was fun even without drinking," and Choo Sung Hoon replied, "It would have been more fun if we had drunk." Kim Jong Kook said, "I thought Sung Hoon hyung would drink a lot more than he did, but he didn't. Maybe he was holding back for us. When we do variety and broadcasts, people who like to drink often drink a lot, but they don't actually drink that much. Still, I didn't feel they were that different.
