Singer-songwriter An Shin-ae announced the release of a new album along with performances whose setlists change every day.
An Shin-ae will release her new album Best Before (베스트 비포) at 6 p.m. on the 21st. This album comes about 1 year and 3 months after her first EP Dear LIFE (디어 라이프), which was released in January last year.
With Kim Gunmo's "Honjamaneui Sarang" as the title track, and including Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter's "Saramdeureun Modu Byeonhana Bwa", Kim Hyun-chul's "Wae Geurae", and Won Mi-yeon's "Ibyeol Yeohaeng", the remake album, which contains a total of four songs, has been drawing attention, and An Shin-ae will hold an intimate theater concert spanning eight performances in total on Saturdays and Sundays from the 25th to May 17.
An Shin-ae said, "I feel overwhelmed thinking about unveiling the results of about 1 year and 3 months of work to my fans. There were so many concerns and processes that I made and scrapped the album three times before it came out, but I think all of those stories have ultimately been absorbed into it."
Regarding choosing a remake album, An Shin-ae explained, "Recently my perspective on the world was reflected in Dear City (디어 시티) and the Dear Life series continued, and I planned to complete the next album as the final Dear series. During the album work, my anguish grew so great that I repeatedly made and scrapped things. Seeing that process, Psy suggested, 'It would be good to try a remake album. I hope you also feel the happiness I felt while making a remake album,' and I needed a breakthrough in the work and thought it would be fun to put my color into songs that people loved, so I proceeded."
About the performances accompanying the new album, she said, "The first concert under my name, 'SCENE A,' was my concept and Psy also suggested it. At first he asked what about doing 200 performances, but since it's the first concert we'll lightly start with eight performances over four weeks. With one guitar and one piano we perform almost all the songs, and it will be a show that presents me raw and as I am."
