Actor Hong Ji-yoon chose the play "Flower, passing star" as her first move after signing an exclusive contract with a new agency.
On the 21st, a representative of the agency Moving Pictures Company told OSEN, "Hong Ji-yoon will appear in the play 'Flower, passing star' in the role of Ji-won."
"Flower, passing star" is set in a small flower shop in Jeju Island and is a work that depicts the memories, love, and stories of parting that bloom within various relationships in life, centering on the protagonist Mi-ho, including family, lovers, and friends. In particular, "Flower, passing star" met audiences as the 20th anniversary work of the theater troupe Performance Delivery Service Ganda, which includes actors Lee Heejun, Jin Sun-kyu, Park Bo-kyung, Cha Yong-hak, Oh Eui-sik, Kim Seol-jin, Kim Ji-hyun, and Park So-jin.
Among them, Hong Ji-yoon took on the role of Ji-won. She is a bright and good-natured character who carries trauma from past wounds but tries to overcome them. Actors Go Bo-gyeol and Park So-jin were cast as Mi-ho, Jin Sun-kyu, Lee Heejun and Yang Kyung-won as Jeong-ho, Lee Da-ah and Bae So-mi as the grandmother, and Kim Dae-hyun and Cha Yong-hak as Hee-min. Thus, Hong Ji-yoon will perform alongside venerable senior actors. She will also meet audiences playing the role of Ji-won alongside Jung Ye-in, formerly of the girl group Lovelyz.
Regarding this, she said, "I'm excited and grateful to be taking on my first play. I want to cherish the given moment and do well."
In addition, this work is the first project Hong Ji-yoon is presenting after signing an exclusive contract earlier this year with her new agency Moving Pictures Company, and it is also her first-ever play, raising expectations. Born in 1991, Hong Ji-yoon is an alumna of Hanyang University and debuted as an actor in 2017 through the drama "Criminal Minds."
Since then, she has accumulated acting experience in Bad Guys: City of Evil, Return, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, The Girl Who Sees Smells, My Country: The New Age, My First First Love, Drama Special - The Lilac Left There, Lululala Pawnshop, and Woori The Virgin. In particular, she left an impressive performance as a scene-stealer supporting role in Why Oh Soo-jae.
