Three years after ASTRO member the late Moonbin passed away, his family and colleagues continued their heartfelt tributes in their own ways. Even as time passes, the still-vivid longing moves many people.
First, his younger sibling Billy Moon Su-a conveyed memories with a sincere song for his older brother. On the 19th, Moon Su-a left a long post on her SNS saying, "Brother, long time no see. Aren't you curious what song I brought this time?" She added, "After thinking about it, I wanted to choose a song that also holds memories of my brother," and released a cover video of Christopher's "Moments."
She said, "My brother liked this song. The lyrics are so good. It felt like exactly what I wanted to say," conveying her tender feelings, and added, "The weather has gotten much warmer. I'm working hard preparing for a comeback. It's my first full-length album. Praise me when we meet. I miss you a lot and I love you," which brought tears to viewers' eyes.
His close friend Seventeen's Seungkwan also remembered Moonbin on stage. At the Doyoung X Seungkwan performance held at Incheon Inspire Arena that day, Seungkwan performed his self-composed solo "Dandelion." The song is known to have been created while thinking of the late Moonbin.
After finishing the song, Seungkwan ultimately shed tears. He said, "This is a song I wrote for Bin, whom I loved so much," and added, "Coincidentally, today is my friend Bin's death anniversary. Somehow three years have passed. I wanted to make people remember him even just once more." He went on to say, "I think he's watching over me well," leaving the audience moved.
The late Moonbin suddenly passed away on April 19, 2023. He was 25. With his bright smile, warm personality and stage presence that shone more than anyone's, he remains vividly in many people's hearts.
On the first anniversary, ASTRO members released the tribute song "Fly," and last year on the second anniversary Moon Su-a along with ASTRO members, SEVENTEEN·MONSTA X·VV·STRAY KIDS' Bang Chan and 22 colleagues released "Door in a dream," remembering his name. As time passes, people once again mourn the deceased, gathering wishes that he rest peacefully in the memories of those who loved him and that he be at peace there.
