Cortis will release the audio and music video for the mini album 2 title track "REDRED" at 6 p.m. on the 20th. They will preview the title track of the new album "GREENGREEN," which will be officially released on May 4, and begin full-fledged comeback activities.
"REDRED" is a song that expresses Cortis's direction as "GREEN" and what they avoid as "RED." The idea was based on suggestions directly proposed by the members, and an addictive melody that lingers in the ear, rough electronic sounds and a memorable beat achieve a perfect harmony. Its fresh, raw energy, unbound by any framework or specific genre, is the song's charm point.
Notably, the members' full participation worthy of the moniker "young creator crew" stands out. Following their previous work, all five members again proudly earned credits for song production on this new record. Having held a songwriting camp locally in Los Angeles, they contributed ideas directly across the entire production process—lyrics and composition as well as performance, music video and album photo production—raising the album's authenticity. "REDRED" can be seen as the first page in the journey to find Cortis's distinct musical color and identity.
The global music market's expectations for them are already proven by the numbers. Their debut album released in August last year, "COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES," set a K-pop debut album record with cumulative sales of 2,069,663 copies (Circle Chart as of April 4), creating a sensation in the music industry. This mini album 2 is once again aiming to become a double million-seller. According to distributors YG Plus and Universal Records, preorders counted as of the 16th already approach 2,024,836 copies.
Meanwhile, Cortis will unveil the new song's performance for the first time at the "REDRED release party" at 8 p.m. tonight (the 20th) at YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin District, Seoul, immediately after the audio release. This release party will be held once more on the album's official release date, May 4, and Cortis plans to launch nonstop relay activities, starting with this event and appearing on various music shows.
