Comedian Park Seong-gwang's wife, Lee Sol-i, expressed a tender feeling toward her mother.
On the 19th, Lee Sol-i posted a long message on her social media saying, "These days, when an acquaintance contacts me after a long time, I get suddenly frightened."
She said, "It must be because I've entered an age when there are more occasions to offer comfort and ask about people's well-being than to celebrate," adding, "I have become a bit more concerned with taking care of the health of the people I love. I think I went through pain a little earlier in life and began thinking about life and parting sooner than others," she confessed.
She continued, "Maybe that's why each day spent with loved ones feels clearer and reaches me more deeply and specially than before," adding, "Faced with an undeniable reality, there are moments I want to turn away, moments of resentment, and times when I feel frustrated because I completely can't understand, but despite that, the will of the heart that willingly wants to love seems to become the driving force of life," she said.
Lee Sol-i also posted a video containing her candid feelings. In the video she said, "At 39, I have a mother for whom time has stopped. The person most painfully affected is my mother, who cannot age or rest in peace because she cared for her daughter battling cancer," confessing, "They say you only understand a mother's heart when you become a mother yourself, but I still feel like an immature daughter without a promise, and my heart shrinks."
She added, "So sometimes I have this hope: 'Could my mother have kept a diary?' As someone who is not my mother but an individual, I want to read your life deeply, and perhaps understand your loneliness and exhaustion as fully as I do," adding, "There is no greater comfort than being understood by someone. I too leave today's feelings with the hope that someday I will be read by someone."
Finally, she expressed affection, saying, "Is becoming a mother the only way to understand a mother? Even if I cannot fully understand, I love her completely."
Earlier, Lee Sol-i married Park Seong-gwang in 2020. However, in April last year she revealed that she had been battling cancer, receiving much support, and she is currently undergoing regular checkups and drug treatment after surgery and chemotherapy.
