Actor Oh Mi-hee recalled her married life with her ex-husband, who was a doctor, and revealed a shocking pregnancy and childbirth anecdote.
On the 18th broadcast of MBN's "Sokpuli Show Dongchimi," candid stories from the cast were revealed under the theme "mothers are women too."
That day Oh Mi-hee said, "The baby was breech so I had a cesarean section," and "I never went to the hospital during my pregnancy," which surprised everyone. She added, "My husband was a doctor and said I didn't have to go."
As the cast could not hide their surprise, Oh Mi-hee explained the situation at the time, saying, "I went to set the delivery date at the end and learned the baby was breech."
She also shared an anecdote from after the birth. She said, "I was fasting after the surgery, and when my husband came home from work he drank a cold cola," and "I asked for just one sip but he said no. That made me so resentful." She added honestly about her hurt at the time, "I usually don't like cola, but I really wanted it then."
Recalling the end of her marriage, Oh Mi-hee said, "Seven months after the birth I thought this isn't right," which drew attention. She said, "I even tried writing down reasons while contemplating divorce," conveying her complicated feelings at the time.
She also revealed the story of having to live apart from her daughter during the divorce process. Oh Mi-hee said, "I couldn't celebrate the baby's first birthday," and "I remember feeling so devastated after sending my child away." She added, "I couldn't see my daughter for quite a long time," and later her daughter said, "I'm glad my mother isn't mentally ill," which added to the sorrow. Even so, she said, "I feel very sorry to my child," and "afterward I tried to tell my child about my ex-husband's good points."
