Arirang group singing erupted in the heart of Japan.
BTS successfully concluded the world tour BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN TOKYO at Tokyo Dome on Apr. 17-18. Their Tokyo Dome concert marked a return after 7 years and 5 months since Nov. 2018's BTS WORLD TOUR LOVE YOURSELF ~JAPAN EDITION~. Both shows sold out early, and 110,000 spectators attended over the two days.
During 'Not Today' and 'MIC Drop' the crowd's roar shook Tokyo Dome, and the climax was the new album ARIRANG's track 'Body to Body.' When the melody of the Korean folk song 'Arirang' embedded in that song played, everyone immediately sang along to 'Arirang.' Earlier, chairman Bang Si-hyuk had predicted that an 'Arirang group singing' echoing at overseas venues would become the tour's most 'iconic moment.' That day the members also could not hide their expressions at the audience's voices..
It was impressive to see fans sing every word of global hits 'Butter' and 'Dynamite.' In the 'random song' corner where they performed older songs spontaneously, they sang 'Crystal Snow' from their 2017 Japanese single album No. 8 and 'FOR YOU' from their 2015 Japanese single album No. 4. As original Japanese songs for local fans, the audience was left with a deep impression. The members moved across the stage meeting eyes with people and kept saying, 'We haven't sung this in a long time. It feels so good.'
BTS delivered most of their remarks fluently in the local language and read letters they had carefully written. After conveying such sincere feelings, the members said, 'Even though it's been a long time since we've seen you, you answer with the same cheers and smiles, and that actually gives us strength. We missed you.' They added, 'We sometimes come to Tokyo as travelers and walking the streets we think, you live surrounded by these scenes. I'm really so happy and honored to be able to come back. And I'm happy. Thank you for waiting until now and I truly love you,' moving the audience.
Meanwhile, BTS will move their stage to the United States. The tour continues at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Apr. 25-26 and 28.
