ASTRO member the late Moonbin has been gone for three years already.
Moonbin died on Apr. 19, 2023. He was 25.
According to police, Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam District, Seoul, at about 8:10 p.m. that day, and it was reported that a manager discovered him and called the police.
At the time, agency Fantagio said, "We are sorry to bring such sorrowful and heartbreaking news. On Apr. 19, ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky."
The sudden tragic news shocked the entertainment industry. The shock was great because he died at a young age, he was holding the fan-con world tour "Diffusion," and in May he was scheduled to appear at Dream Concert as ASTRO unit Moonbin & Sanha.
Members of the same group rushed to the funeral home after hearing the tragic news. In Cha Eun-woo's case, he had left for Los Angeles for a brand event but returned immediately, and MJ, who was serving in the military, took emergency leave and headed to the funeral home.
Even after the late Moonbin's death, friends and colleagues who remembered him continued to offer final farewells. On the first anniversary, ASTRO members released the tribute song "Fly," and on the second anniversary last year, his sister Moon Su-a and ASTRO members, VV, MONSTA X and some members of SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids' Bang Chan and a total of 22 artists and friends gathered their hearts and released the tribute song "Moon in a dream."
Meanwhile, the late Moonbin debuted in 2016 as a member of the group ASTRO and was active in various fields. A former child actor, he started with Boys Over Flowers and went on to act in A Moment at Seventeen and The Mermaid Prince, among others, working diversely as an actor and receiving much love.
