Veteran actor Kim Hong-seok has already been gone six years since he died of cardiac arrest.
Kim Hong-seok died of cardiac arrest on the morning of Apr. 19, 2020. He was 63. At the time, the news was reported a day later, on Apr. 20, through the Korea Actors' Labor Union.
The deceased had no chronic illness and was found collapsed at his home; an ambulance responded but he was already dead from cardiac arrest, it was reported. The cause was cardiac arrest, but because the deceased had no chronic illness, the bereaved family carried out an autopsy for an accurate confirmation.
When the sudden news of his death was reported, the public and netizens left condolence messages through online communities and elsewhere.
In particular, the late Kim Hong-seok had been actively working on projects and showed his passion for acting until before his death, which made the loss even more painful. He had participated as a director of the entertainers' cooperative before his death and was reportedly preparing for drama production and other projects. The late Kim Hong-seok was active not only in acting but also in training juniors and worked vigorously.
The late Kim Hong-seok debuted in 1977 as a ninth-term MBC open recruitment actor. He later became known through the KBS drama 'Couples Clinic: Love and War' and appeared in single-episode dramas including MBC's 'Bestseller Theater - Unknown Things'.
The deceased, who consistently took to the stage in theater and showed his passion for acting, was active in 'Three Families Under One Roof', 'Last Witness', 'Ambition 25 Hours', 'Father and Son', 'The Third Republic', 'The Fifth Republic', and 'Selling Happiness', among others. He also appeared in films such as 'Private Soldier's Notebook' and 'Under a Sky Without a Mother'.
