Actors Yoo Yeon-seok and Lee Seyoung will share the screen for the first time in the romance historical drama "The princess falls for the scholar".
On the 18th, OSEN reported that Yoo Yeon-seok and Lee Seyoung recently received the script for the new drama "The princess falls for the scholar" and, while reviewing it positively, have decided to appear.
"The princess falls for the scholar," based on the webtoon of the same name, is a classic romance historical drama that combines court romance and political historical drama.
The story follows Princess Eun-myung, the king's daughter, who loses even her mother, the queen, at a young age and lives alone in the palace, bound by status and rules, until she falls in love at first sight with the scholar Kim Seo-yul and decides to marry him. But there are longstanding family conflicts and bad blood between the two, which become entangled and lead to unexpected power struggles. The story, in which the princess and the scholar fall in love without foreseeing each other's futures, evokes a "Joseon-era Romeo and Juliet" and draws attention.
Lee Seyoung plays Princess Eun-myung, who grew up lonely but is spirited and curious. Yoo Yeon-seok plays Seo-yul, the second son of the chief state councillor, who pushes Eun-myung away the more she approaches him. He is the handsome, smart, model son type of that era. This is the first time the two actors will play opposite each other in one work, raising expectations about what kind of chemistry they will show.
Currently, director Moon Hyun-sung is expected to direct "The princess falls for the scholar," and the TV channel lineup is under discussion.
Meanwhile, Yoo Yeon-seok is active in SBS's Fri-Sat drama "God and the law office" and is awaiting the release of MBC's new work "Liar." Lee Seyoung will present the Disney+ series "The Remarried Empress" this year.<
