CORTIS (CORTIS) released the video for the title track "REDRED."
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho) posted a "Release Date Trailer" on the team's official social media at 9 p.m. on the 17th. The new song "REDRED" is scheduled for official release at 6 p.m. on the 20th.
The video begins with Geonho's appearance. He walks toward the wall wearing a floral apron over a comfortable outfit of a white T-shirt, gray sweatpants and sneakers. He lightly opens the cap of a red marker with his mouth and circles "April 20" several times on the calendar hanging on the wall. His bright smile toward the camera conveys anticipation and confidence about the new song he will showcase that day.
The background is an old samgyeopsal restaurant, with walls showing signs of age, graffiti on the air conditioner, a round table with a brazier in the center, a winding vent hanging from the ceiling and red plastic chairs, all lending vivid realism. At the end of the video, a short phrase "That's REDRED" is inserted in the members' voices.
"REDRED" is a fresh song that adds a repetitive, catchy rhythm over rough synthesizers. What CORTIS aims for is "GREEN," and what they set as a boundary is likened to "RED," featuring distinctive lyrics and an addictive melody. All five members participated in the lyrics and composition, adding sincerity. The song is like the starting point of a journey to explore CORTIS's own direction, breaking away from the world's standards and rules.
CORTIS will release the title track first and then release the second mini album "GREENGREEN" on May 4. It contains six tracks that reflect the team's clearer tastes and texture. Since their debut in August last year, their comeback, which has continuously broken their first and best records, is drawing global attention. They are also expected to possibly achieve a second consecutive "double million seller" following their first mini album. According to distributor YG Plus and Universal Records, preorders for the new album totaled 2,024,836 as of the 16th.
