It has been three years since the late actor Lee Gye-young, who was known as a historical drama specialist for his roles in works such as "The Rustic Period" and "Taejo Wang Geon," passed away.
The late Lee Gye-young died on Apr. 18, 2023. He was 70. He died at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, where he had been hospitalized with a chronic illness.
Lee Gye-young debuted in 1973 as a TBC 14th open recruitment talent and appeared in the dramas "Daldongnae," "Report of the New Generation — Adults Don't Know," "Tears of the Dragon," "The King and the Queen," "Earth Warrior Vector Man," "Taejo Wang Geon," "The Last Empress," "The Rustic Period," "Jang Hee-bin," "The Age of Warriors," "The King's Woman," "Jang Gil-san," "Immortal Admiral Yi Sun-sin," "The Great Sea," "Dae Joyeong," "Giant," "The Great King Kwanggaeto," "Legend of the Patriots," and "The Empress Ki."
He also appeared in films such as "Dragon Ball," "Revenge Is Mine," "Old Miss Diary," "Sin Gijeon," "The Arrest King," "The Return of the Family," "Wish Taxi," and "The Cheonan Project."
In particular, Lee Gye-young was a devout Christian who led a film industry missionary association and took the lead in helping underprivileged neighbors, becoming an example to many.
