Kim Ji-hye, formerly of the group Cats, apologized after a group buying controversy erupted.
Kim Ji-hye said on the 17th, "Hello. I am providing information regarding the group buy. First, I apologize sincerely for my shortcomings in not explaining the group buy process in sufficient detail and causing confusion," she said.
She added, "When my baby was born, the first gift I received was ㅇㅇㅇㅇㅇ, and I wanted to share the emotion I felt then, so I think I focused solely on making the group buy happen to introduce it at a good price," she explained.
She also said, "I am sorry for the time you spent waiting early in the morning to purchase the product, and for the inconvenience caused by quick sellouts, limited quantities and slow responses."
Regarding the price in particular, she said, "The lowest price we provided during the group buy was based on the sale price that could be confirmed at the time of opening. However, it is regrettable that later lower prices were found on other channels, which caused confusion on this matter."
She added, "It was not our intention to provide false information, and going forward we will be more careful in how we present price information."
There were questions about authenticity, and on that point she said, "This group buy product is genuine and was purchased directly in France. The brand does not operate through a single official distributor structure in Korea; it is a brand with multiple overseas purchase and import channels, and it was handled through an importer. However, I acknowledge that information about this was insufficient."
She also added, "The product itself is the same genuine item produced by the brand and there is no difference in quality or contents. Also, for those who still feel uneasy about authenticity or find this burdensome, we will assist with refunds."
