"The dashing comedian" Park Ji-sun, who was called that, has already been gone for six years, but her fellow classmates still remember her and summon her on broadcasts. Recently Park Seong-gwang and Yang Sang-guk, among others, mentioned Park Ji-sun without forgetting her.
On the 6th, the Zzanbro Shin Dong-yeob channel uploaded a video titled "Legendary KBS 22nd class comedians." At this event, comedians Heo Kyunghwan, Park Young-jin and Park Seong-gwang appeared and showcased outstanding wit that drew laughter.
Shin Dong-yeob asked, "Was Junhyun also a classmate?" Heo Kyunghwan said, "Junhyun was too," and Park Seong-gwang revealed, "Jang Do-youn, Jeong Beom-gyun, Choi Hyo-jong, and Jisun! Park Ji-sun was also a classmate." At that moment Shin Dong-yeob looked up to the sky and said, "our Jisun," offering a surprised greeting, and Park Seong-gwang also looked toward the sky and waved, making viewers emotional.
Park Seong-gwang and Park Ji-sun joined together as KBS 22nd class recruited comedians in 2007. The two worked on numerous corners together on Gag Concert, building chemistry and gaining recognition as close partners. However, in 2020 news came of Park Ji-sun's sudden death, and her close friend Park Seong-gwang was also deeply shocked.
Ahead of the funeral, Park Seong-gwang opened up on his personal social media, saying, "My classmate, my comedy partner and the one who was always part of the same set, Jisun," and wrote, "Tomorrow is really the day to say the final farewell to Jisun. Even though I watched over you more than anyone, I'm so sorry I didn't know everything and couldn't feel everything for you, and this situation is heartbreaking and my heart is collapsing endlessly."
He continued, "You'll come to mind in everyday places again and again, but each time I'll remember you with a bright smiling face like in that photo. That will be the image of you I want to remember most, and this child with such a radiant smile was truly the dashing comedian Park Ji-sun," and added, "Jisun, who was always a related search term next to my name, today your precious and brave life, and the words that became hope and light for many people, are the things I miss so much. I will remember your good influence for a very long time," offering a heavy farewell.
Park Seong-gwang, on Channel A's "Oh Eun-young's Golden Counseling Center" broadcast in September 2024, spoke about the grief he experienced after losing Park Ji-sun, saying, "I've never really talked properly about that friend, and when I'm happy I suddenly feel guilty. It feels like a forbidden word for us," and he shed tears he had been holding back in front of Dr. Oh Eun-young.
Yang Sang-guk, who has experienced a second heyday this year, also expressed gratitude toward Park Ji-sun.
On the afternoon of the 18th, MBC variety show Omniscient Interfering View will air, where Yang Sang-guk is expected to express his deep longing for his late classmate Park Ji-sun. It turned out that the person who helped Yang Sang-guk when he was financially struggling was Park Ji-sun.
Yang Sang-guk is said to recount the grateful story of how Park Ji-sun readily reached out to help him during his financially difficult days. He also reveals the unwavering friendship of the 22nd class classmates, who still visit the columbarium together, leaving a deep impression.
It is known that every year when the anniversary of Park Ji-sun's death arrives, 22nd class classmates including Park Seong-gwang, Yang Sang-guk, Jang Do-youn, Park Young-jin, Park Na-rae, Kim Joon-hyun, Jeong Beom-gyun and Choi Hyo-jong visit the columbarium to pay their respects.
Meanwhile, Park Ji-sun was found dead with her mother at their home in Mapo District, Seoul, on Nov. 2, 2020. A note in the form of a suicide letter believed to have been written by the mother was found at the scene, and the police decided not to perform an autopsy considering the wishes of the bereaved family.
