In the March 17 broadcast of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Perfect Crown' episode 3, Grand Prince Iaan (Byeon Woo-seok) is shown kissing Seong Hee-ju (IU).
On that day Grand Prince Iaan accepted Seong Hee-ju's proposal and entered the palace with her. At the center of the controversy, queen dowager Yoon I-rang (Gong Seung-yeon) called Grand Prince Iaan and pressed him about the scandal. But Grand Prince Iaan retorted, "There is no premarital pregnancy or that kind of mischief, so you don't need to worry."
Afterward Grand Prince Iaan and Seong Hee-ju broke the royal taboo and shared their first night. Lying side by side on the bed, the two bickered about who should sleep on the sofa and even fought over the blanket, drawing laughter.
The next day, Seong Hee-ju endured a turbulent day as she was swept up in a scandal with Grand Prince Iaan. She faced malicious comments, was targeted with egg attacks and other assaults, and was even threatened by her father, who said, "Don't covet the company. If you covet the company, I'll remove you from the family registry."
Hearing Seong Hee-ju's single cry over the phone, Grand Prince Iaan, worried, went to find her. Startled, Seong Hee-ju received a worried look from him as he asked, "Are you hurt? Are you not hurt?"
Eventually taking her to his residence, Grand Prince Iaan explained why he accepted her marriage. He said, "Because you're wealthy. There are many criticisms that the royal family eats up taxes, and I thought your money could help."
Grand Prince Iaan said, "The second reason is beauty. The third is that if I say I want to ascend the throne, everyone will criticize and curse me, but you would understand me."
Meanwhile, Yoon I-rang tried to separate Seong Hee-ju from Grand Prince Iaan by framing her as the true culprit of the Tanil-yeon fire. She suspected Seong Hee-ju as a likely suspect and said, "She was absent from the scene at the time of the incident."
Grand Prince Iaan, who appeared to save Seong Hee-ju, replied, "Is that kind of thing really evidence?" In response, Yoon I-rang threatened, "But it can tarnish her. Either that woman or that woman's company."
Then Grand Prince Iaan said, "Investigate me too. You know that every circumstance that makes you suspect this person applies to me as well." He then carried the feigning Seong Hee-ju and left the scene.
Grand Prince Iaan reassured her, "From tomorrow the military guard will protect you." Seong Hee-ju planned a tryst, saying, "Ah, should a nobleman fallen in love do something crazy? Shall I do something crazy too?"
The two met between the walls. Seong Hee-ju said, "You'd say we're madly in love only if we go this far," and brought various supplements and tea. Watching that, Grand Prince Iaan cupped Seong Hee-ju's face and, saying "Stay still," surprised her with an ambush kiss, causing excitement.
