The 2025 Korean Series revenge match is expected to be reenacted on Our Neighborhood Baseball Captain.
The second episode of KBS 2TV's sports reality variety show Our Neighborhood Baseball Captain (produced by Kim Sang Mi, directed by Lee Jeong Wook), which airs on the 19th, will feature the second game of the season opener between Little Twins, led by manager Park Yong Taek, and Little Eagles, led by manager Kim Tae Kyun.
Because last week's first broadcast saw manager Lee Dae Ho's "Little Giants" and manager Na Ji Wan's "Little Tigers" hit back-to-back home runs and produce a classic 6-5 score, the candid inner thoughts of managers Park Yong Taek and Kim Tae Kyun and their coaching staffs, who watched it in person, will be revealed.
Park Yong Taek said, "They played so well. I was very nervous inside," and Kim Tae Kyun also could not help but marvel, saying, "The players' level exceeded expectations." According to commentators Kim Seungwoo, Lee Dae Hyung and Lee Dong Geun, Little Twins coach Jung Sung Hoon lost his appetite from the tension and reportedly ate less than a third of his usual meal.
Little Twins, considered a favorite to win even before the season began because of their formidable lineup, showed confidence, saying, "Of course we have to be first. We have no interest below that." Manager Park Yong Taek, as if aware of his nickname "Pelle-tek," jokingly said, "I'm not confident," drawing laughs.
By contrast, Little Eagles were identified as the weakest team during a pre-manager meeting, but they enter the season opener armed with the unusual grit of being first in training volume among the four clubs. Manager Kim Tae Kyun promised a turnaround, saying, "That time and now are very different," and in practice the eagle squad, led by captain Lee Hyo Jun, is expected to show its fighting spirit.
The relationship between the LG Twins and the Hanwha Eagles, who faced each other in last year's professional baseball Korean Series, has continued into youth baseball, and interest is focused on which side—the twins of Seoul or the eagles of Chungcheong—will smile first in this little version of the matchup.
