Singer and painter Maiq, who married broadcaster Kim Na-young and gained two sons, expressed tender fatherly love.
Maiq recently posted a long message on his social media along with a photo of his eldest son Shin-woo, mentioning his mindset as a father.
First, Maiq began the post by saying, "Time passes quickly. When I look back at the i-dle, they have suddenly grown up. Whenever I feel the moments the i-dle grow, I fully give thanks for this time and, to not forget, I make sure to hold them tightly."
He went on, "Shin-woo really likes basketball. He thinks about basketball every moment and dreams about it. He carves out time for basketball along with his studies. He plays as a starter in what's like a hobby team rather than a professional squad. He's not the team's ace, but because of Shin-woo's effort and fighting spirit, he is a player the team definitely needs," he said, mentioning his eldest son.
He added, "When I go along to watch Shin-woo's basketball practice and games, my inner feelings become very complicated. When he doesn't do well, I feel frustrated and sad and sometimes angry, and if his friends don't pass well, I want to run with him and help. At times, negative thoughts like 'Why can't he do that any other way?' shake me intensely," he frankly confessed.
Soon Maiq said, "I calm that chaotic inner turmoil during the roughly two-hour practice time. And I always ask the same question: 'If I were Shin-woo, what kind of father would I want to face after all this is over?'" He added, "Ultimately, in this world where you have to live alone, regardless of any process or result, I hope there will always be a father waiting whom he can lean on peacefully," he sincerely conveyed.
Maiq said, "I take a deep breath and comfort the inner child who desperately wanted my father's approval when I was young. After saying goodbye with, 'I'm okay now. And now I must become an adult,' I open my arms with a smiling face to welcome Shin-woo walking toward me. My love, fighting!" he concluded, sending love and support to his son.
Kim Na-young was moved by Maiq's heartfelt post. Kim Na-young left a comment saying, "Shin-woo is lucky," expressing her thanks.
Maiq married Kim Na-young in October last year after four years of dating. He formed a family with Kim Na-young's two sons, Shin-woo and Lee Jun, and has shown efforts to do his best as a father through broadcasts and YouTube, among other media.
