Drama writer Lim Seong-han spoke calmly about anti reactions such as being called "makjang."
On the 17th, YouTuber Eom Eun-hyang held a live broadcast on her personal channel. As previously announced, drama writer Lim Seong-han attended as a special guest and took part in the interview via phone connection, attracting attention.
Writer Lim Seong-han said about his distinctive speech style known as "Lim Seong-han style," "When I first debuted, a mid-career actor whose name would be recognized had a lot of written-style speech rather than colloquial speech. I have a strong pride. After that I listened closely to how people spoke. Everyone's speech was inverted and chaotic. So I wrote entirely in colloquial speech," he said.
He also spoke calmly about the anti reactions, "There is nothing to be angry about. I've heard so many people call it makjang while cursing and watching. When 'The Little Mermaid' aired, my anti fans even held a protest demanding I stop writing," he said calmly.
Writer Lim Seong-han continued, "Even the president has 48% anti. I naturally experience it too. When my audience share was 78%, if about 20 million people in Korea watched, the anti were 15,000. Instead of being hurt, I was grateful for the attention. So I tried to write more perfectly. Midang Seo Jeong-ju said 'eight-tenths of you is the wind,' but eight-tenths of me are the anti and the reporters," he revealed.
Lim Seong-han is a star drama writer loved for works such as "See and See Again," "The Little Mermaid," "Oh My God," "Temptation of Wife," "New Tales of Gisaeng," "Apgujeong Midnight Sun," and "Princess Aurora." Having once announced his retirement, he returned under the pen name "P. B." with works including the Love (ft. Marriage & Divorce) series and "Miss Durian." He is currently meeting viewers with the TV CHOSUN weekend drama "Doctor Shin."
