Set at the end of the 20th century in 1999, the comic supernatural adventure Wonderfuls, about neighborhood simpletons who accidentally gain superpowers and struggle to protect the world from villains who threaten the peace, has confirmed its release for May 15 (Fri). Wonderfuls raises expectations with the reunion of the production team loved for charismatic characters in Extraordinary Attorney Woo and Dr. Romantic and director Yoo In-sik with Park Eunbin.
The unveiled release-date poster captures the eye with the image of "TEAM Wonderfuls" gathered among objects floating in the air. From the purely innocent "Eunchae-ni" (Park Eunbin) to the focused-looking "I Unjeong" (Cha Eun-woo), the surprised expression of "Son Gyeonghun" (Choi Dae-hoon), the frightened-looking "Kang Robin" (Lim Seong-jae) and the copy "A century-end superpower adventure of simpletons," the poster stirs anticipation for the adventures these people, who accidentally gain superpowers, will face.
The released trailer immediately draws attention with the official "simpletons" of Haeseong City who accidentally gain superpowers. With the line "We must really have broken the set," the image of "Chaeni" dancing recklessly strongly reveals Chaeni's candid, confident side, going her own way and ignoring others' gazes, fitting the nickname for Haeseong City, "the mess."
