Comedian Shim Jin-hwa recounted an anecdote about luxury gifts she received from her husband Kim Won-hyo.
On the 16th, the YouTube channel 'Suh You-jung and Joo-jeong' released a new video titled 'This marriage is a scam~! The reality of Shim Jin-hwa & Kim Won-hyo (feat. Shim Jin-hwa)'.
That day Suh You-jung mentioned an article saying Shim Jin-hwa had received 100 million won worth of luxury bags from her husband Kim Won-hyo, and Suh You-jung reacted, "I was surprised to see that article." Shim Jin-hwa acknowledged the accuracy, saying, "Over 15 years of marriage, he bought one for each anniversary, so it added up to about 100 million won." Suh You-jung estimated about 15 to 17 pieces.
Shim Jin-hwa said she did not own luxury bags until her early 30s, saying, "Before marriage I was so poor that I had never owned a bag over 50,000 won until I was 32. I didn't even know Chanel, and I thought people who carry expensive bags were crazy, but after living that life I liked it," which drew laughter.
When Suh You-jung asked about "Sha-tech (Chanel + investment)," Shim Jin-hwa revealed, "There was a time when we faced a crisis. This is something I've never told anywhere. When we hit a financial crisis, I took all my Chanel bags to sell. They really only sold for about half price," she confessed.
Shim Jin-hwa explained the reason, saying, "(To do Sha-tech) you have to buy the basic styles, but I like unusual things."
Meanwhile, Shim Jin-hwa married fellow comedian Kim Won-hyo in September 2011.
