Actor Uhm Ji-won returned to the set on her own two feet after undergoing surgery for an ankle fracture and completing rehabilitation.
Uhm Ji-won and her agency on the 16th posted on their official social account the message, "I can walk on my own two feet now. What happens when Uhm Ji-won, who succeeded in bipedal walking, returns to the set," along with a video.
The video showed Uhm Ji-won arriving on set on her own two feet after recovering through rehabilitation following surgery for an ankle fracture. Using a popular recent meme, Uhm Ji-won said, "Everyone, I did it. I returned to the set on my own two feet."
Starting to walk carefully on her own two feet without crutches, Uhm Ji-won said, "I must not stagger and I have to walk straight. I still can't walk perfectly straight," as she took cautious steps. Uhm Ji-won exercised on set whenever she had time to loosen up her body and focused on recovery, including applying compresses.
Later, after receiving a medical opinion that she could finally manage without crutches, Uhm Ji-won said, "The doctor said I don't need crutches. I still can't run yet," and added, "It hasn't even been two months. From now on I'll walk to the set." On the way, seeing cherry blossoms, Uhm Ji-won enjoyed the spring air and cheered, "Other patients, you can do it!!"
On Feb. 14, Uhm Ji-won suffered a fracture while traveling in Japan, was transported to a hospital and underwent surgery. Afterwards, images of her moving with crutch support or assisted by others were released, evoking sympathy as she concentrated on rehabilitation.
After relying on crutches and working hard on rehabilitation, by the sixth week after surgery Uhm Ji-won was able to stand on her own two feet, and before two months had passed she regained her health and finally returned to the set on her own two feet, delivering a message of hope.
Meanwhile, Uhm Ji-won will appear in the Tving series "Daerisuneung," scheduled to air this year.
