Actor Jung Woo mentioned filming with 'ten-million director' Jang Hang-jun.
On the 16th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul, a press screening and press conference for the film 'Jjanggu' were held. The event was attended by actors Jung Woo, Jung Soojung, Shin Seung-ho, Jo Beom-gyu, Kwon So-hyun, and director Oh Seong-ho.
The film 'Jjanggu' is a cheerful and passionate challenge drama about audition prodigy Jjanggu (Jung Woo), who, despite being repeatedly broken and frustrated, endures and gets back up with the single wish to become an actor.
Jung Woo, who stars in the film and co-directed it, said he felt, "While filming there can be various physical situations and pressures. It was really fun. I was grateful to be able to shoot in such an environment when the film market itself is in a difficult situation."
The film was also made based on actor Jung Woo's autobiographical story. Jung Woo recalled, "Some personal stories and wishes. It seems those also started from my experiences. So there are distinctive emotions."
He added, "That does not mean every character is a real person. Min-hee (played by Jung Soojung) in particular, from men's perspective, is the kind of person many would want to be, so I projected her as a symbolic wall of reality. The characters Seung-ho, So-hyun, and Beom-gyu were also experienced directly or indirectly, and I used an actual friend as a motive for them," he explained.
He also mentioned an episode with 'ten-million director' Jang Hang-jun of the surprise-appearing 'King Sa-nam', saying, "The film's episodes are like that too. The monologue in the film was also one part of the free performances I did while auditioning. Overall, although there are parts from my experiences, we also adapted them playfully."
He said, "One of the many thoughts I had while filming was that my first film audition in real life was for a work by director Jang Hang-jun. Especially since I was going to play a role auditioning in front of director Jang Hang-jun in a scene that becomes the core of my film, my heart really swelled. I think many complex emotions came up," drawing attention.
