Choi Bo-pil, producer-director of Tteummanna-myeon season 4, who ended the run as the previous episode's time-slot ratings leader, revealed plans for future seasons.
On the afternoon of the 16th, Choi Bo-pil, director of the popular SBS variety show Tteummanna-myeon, told OSEN his thoughts on wrapping up season 4 and mentioned goals for future seasons.
That day Choi Bo-pil said of Tteummanna-myeon season 4 finishing as the time-slot leader for every episode (based on the 2049 rating, provided by Nielsen Korea), "First, I'm happy we safely completed season 4 and I thank the viewers. It was the most episodes among all seasons, but it felt like time passed very quickly, as if it was just like any other season," he said.
Tteummanna-myeon is a variety show of "seizing moments" that gifts luck during the brief gaps encountered in daily life. It began with season 1 in 2024 and received much love through the end of season 4 on the 14th. Choi Bo-pil said the show's popularity was due to "viewers liking the chemistry between the two MCs this season as well. Also, the 'gap friends' offered natural immersion, excitement and relaxed talks that couldn't be seen on other shows, which viewers liked even more."
In fact, the natural chemistry between Yu Jae-seok and Yoo Yeon-seok makes Tteummanna-myeon stand out. Choi PD also said, "Now it even feels like watching an older married couple. There is warmth within the comfort."
He added, "They seem to take care of each other while appearing indifferent, and because they show strong interest in each other's daily lives, their relationship seems to become more special with each season. Both have great affection for this program, so we want to further develop that chemistry and show it for a long time."
Riding that chemistry, many guests visited Tteummanna-myeon. In season 4 a wide range of guests across genres appeared, starting with Lee Je-hoon and Pyo Ye-jin from Taxi Driver, followed by Zo In-sung, Park Hae-jun, Park Jeongmin, NMIXX, Choo Young-Woo, Cha Taehyun, Yang Se-hyung, Yang Se-chan and others. The final guests were close friends of Yu Jae-seok and Yoo Yeon-seok, Lee Kwangsoo and Park Boyoung.
Asked which guest was most memorable among the many, Choi PD said, "The two people we'd like to invite again next season are Choo Sung Hoon and Kim Dong-hyun, who left feeling particularly aggrieved," adding, "They were so upset and said they definitely want a rematch, so I'm thinking of inviting them next season."
Regarding a memorable episode during filming, he said, "Many episodes come to mind, but the elementary schools are especially memorable. We unintentionally failed to give gifts only to elementary school students, and next season I definitely want to break that jinx."
After offering a special four months of "gap time," Tteummanna-myeon will return to viewers after a break. Regarding specific scheduling, Choi Bo-pil said, "We are preparing with this year as the target."
