After introducing the family, about her father Her Chanmi said "the head of our household who endured a lot" and "the one who gave up everything and started, someone who would give everything for the family. Then Her Chanmi headed to the practice room with her family. It was a church education building. It turned out her father was a pastor. But in his younger days he was a vocal teacher who trained affiliated artists. Her Chanmi said "I learned from my father since preparing for 'Miss Trot 2'." In the past her father, who also once dreamed of being a singer, said "I learned piano by watching over someone's shoulder and began composing," and under the pen name composer Heo Dae-woon he worked on Nam Jin's "Unable to forget you," Park Woo-cheol's "Walking amicably," Kim Yoon-hee's "You are my everything," Kim Soo-ran's "Why am I like this" and others.
Actually, when Her Chanmi's father spoke by phone with singer Nam Jin, he said "thank you for supporting our Chanmi," and Nam Jin said "she's a promising junior; I didn't know someone like that was his daughter," and "she has musicality like her father, I will guide her well and support her to promote with great songs."
Also, when the father was a vocal teacher his students included Choi Jin-hee, Park Woo-cheol, the late Yoon Hee-sang, Kim Soo-ran and others — an impressive roster. In other words, Her Chanmi was a vocal golden spoon. So Her Chanmi went to practice with her father. They practiced concert pieces together under his special guidance. Her Chanmi said "as a vocal trainer, my father is a tiger teacher; we become teacher and student," and "he trains persistently and harshly until it works; because of such a father I could reach the top spot," she said. The father said "even people around us said they were upset rather than congratulatory, so receiving those calls made me more upset; we're human, so no matter who comforts you you're still upset."
Her Chanmi said "(Jin) Sona unni did so well." At the same time about her parents she said "more than not becoming the champion, I feel sorry for having upset my parents," and "because they supported me for a long time, about 20 years since my trainee days," she said.
