Actor Moon Chae-won announced her marriage and is joining the ranks of married women. She finally met her destined partner and announced a June wedding. However, premarital pregnancy rumors were quickly dismissed.
On the 15th, Moon Chae-won's agency Blitzway Entertainment said in an official statement, "Moon Chae-won has met a precious person and is preparing to marry in June."
In particular, Moon Chae-won drew attention by revealing her views on marriage in an interview conducted ahead of the January release of the film Heartman this year. At the time she said, "Marriage doesn't seem to be something you can plan," and "To some extent, it seems that luck or destiny is needed for a relationship to be formed."
Asked whether love can change one's values, she frankly answered, "It is possible now," and added, "As time passed, I felt that you can't live together without each making concessions."
After her remark mentioning "destiny," news of her marriage came shortly after, drawing even more attention.
On the same day, Moon Chae-won directly revealed a handwritten letter on her social media to announce her marriage. She said, "I will be getting married this coming June," and "I am nervous at the thought of creating and nurturing a family, but the excitement is greater." She added thanks to her fans, saying, "I will be active in a wider variety of ways going forward."
However, regarding the premarital pregnancy suspicions raised by some over the sudden announcement, the agency drew a line, saying, "That is not true."
The identity of the groom-to-be has also aroused curiosity, but because he is a non-celebrity, the agency is taking a cautious stance. The wedding will be held privately with only family and close relatives in attendance.
Meanwhile, since debuting in 2007 with Run! Mackerel, Moon Chae-won has continued steady activity, appearing in various works including the dramas "Brilliant Legacy," "The Princess's Man," "Flower of Evil," "PAYBACK: Money and Power," and the film "The Fatal Encounter." Recently she met audiences through the film "Heartman."
