Dancer Bata, who began a public relationship with actress Ji Ye-eun, strongly denied allegations of a rebound relationship and hinted at a tough response.
Earlier, Bata acknowledged his relationship with Ji Ye-eun on the 13th and began dating publicly. Ji Ye-eun's agency CP Entertainment said, "The two had been colleagues, developed good feelings for each other and are seeing each other," and added, "We ask that you support them with warm eyes."
The two, both born in 1994, are the same age and are reported to have grown closer through shared interests and religion before developing into lovers. In particular, Bata has a connection through participating in the choreography production for the new song "Milkshake" by the project group Chungju Ji family, formed by Ji Ye-eun and broadcaster Jee Seokjin.
When the dating news spread, Jee Seokjin publicly congratulated them by posting on his social media "Congratulations" along with a dance challenge video shot with the two, adding to the warm response.
However, immediately after the relationship was acknowledged, controversy erupted as allegations of a "rebound relationship" spread mainly on online communities. A post claiming "Bata met Ji Ye-eun immediately after breaking up with a partner he dated for six years" circulated.
On the 15th, Aira, the agency of WeDam Boys to which Bata belongs, issued an official statement saying the recently raised rebound relationship allegations were "not even worth mentioning" and "baseless."
The agency added, "We must make it clear that there were cases where false posts were reported without filtering," and emphasized, "There was no six-year relationship, and the timing of any recent dating and breakup was three years ago." It added, "If the spread of unfounded false information continues, we will respond strongly."
As Bata's side immediately rebutted and drew a line, attention is focused on whether the controversy surrounding the two will subside.
