Actor and singer Park Jihoon has truly proven the era of Park Jihoon. He, who rewrote the history of Korean box office success with the film The King's Warden, is continuing his unstoppable rise by simultaneously gracing magazine covers in Korea and Japan.
On the 16th, the magazine Singles released Park Jihoon's photo spread that graced the May issue and the cover of Singles Japan. In this photo spread, Park Jihoon perfectly pulled off hanbok styling reinterpreted in a modern way, showcasing his dignity with his characteristically deep gaze and aura.
In an interview conducted alongside the photo shoot, Park Jihoon shared his sincere feelings about The King's Warden, which set the historic record of ranking second in all-time Korean box office results. He said, "I did not expect to receive this much love," and noted, "When choosing projects, I consider most important what emotions I can convey to the audience and what lingering impression I can leave."
He continued, "The King's Warden was special because I cried a lot during filming and poured my energy into it without holding back. It was also a meaningful project because I could be together with those people. So I am very grateful that it received so much love," expressing deep affection for the project. Regarding praise for his trademark "eye acting," he playfully said, "I can only thank my parents."
He also shared behind-the-scenes stories of stage greetings that dominated social media algorithms. Park Jihoon said, "It is nice to be able to show fans what they want to see, but the process of interacting with them on the spot itself is enjoyable. I also think that this way of communicating is one of my strengths. So rather than worrying about how I will appear, I approached it with the mindset of showing as much as possible to the people who took the time to come," reaffirming his image as a devoted fan favorite.
Above all, he opened up about full-group activities of Wanna One that fans had long awaited. Reuniting after seven years, Park Jihoon said, "I missed the members so much, and I decided to participate because I wanted to show fans a good image again," and added, "I worried that the old chemistry might not come back after so much time, but that worry was unfounded. As soon as we met the members, we are filming while laughing so hard our stomachs hurt," exploding expectations for the reality show Wanna One Go: Back to Base.
Finally, he said, "If it were not for the fans who support me unreservedly, I would not be where I am today," and left a weighty promise: "I want to hone the things that only Park Jihoon can show and present my own color in the future."
