The group TWICE targeted the American Music Awards (AMA) trophy, proving their global longevity.
On the 14th local time, according to this year's nominations opened on the AMA organizers' official website, TWICE was nominated in the 'Best Female K-Pop Artist (Best Female K-Pop Artist)' institutional sector.
At the AMA, classified as one of the three major award ceremonies together with the Grammy Awards and the Billboard Music Awards in the U.S. popular music scene, this is not the first time TWICE has received a love call. After being named a nominee for 'Favorite K-Pop Artist (Favorite K-Pop Artist)' in 2022, this is their second overall nomination, a point that shows their unwavering status in the North American mainstream music market.
This explosive local popularity is directly reflected in the success of their ongoing sixth large-scale world tour, 'THIS IS FOR.' This year, they visited a total of 19 cities in North America alone and successfully carried out an astounding 33 performances, and they will crown their heated North American tour with a spectacular finale after the Moody Center performances in Austin, Texas, on the 17th and 18th.
After successfully completing their North American schedule, they will immediately proceed to Japan. On April 25, 26 and 28, TWICE will make new history as the first overseas artist ever to perform solo at the Tokyo National Stadium.
