The group TWICE aimed the American Music Awards (AMA) trophy and proved their global longevity.
On the 14th local time, according to this year's nominations opened on the AMA organizer's official website, TWICE was nominated in the "Best Female K-Pop Artist" institutional sector.
It is not the first time TWICE has received a love call from the AMA, which is classified as one of the three major award shows in the U.S. pop music scene along with the Grammy Awards and the Billboard Music Awards. After being named a nominee for "Favorite K-Pop Artist" in 2022, this is their second overall nomination, a point that reveals their unwavering status in the mainstream North American music market.
This explosive local popularity is directly reflected in the success of their sixth large-scale world tour, THIS IS FOR. This year, just in the Americas they visited a total of 19 cities and successfully performed 33 shows, and they will crown their hot North American tour with a spectacular finale after the Moody Center shows in Austin, Texas, on the 17th and 18th.
After successfully completing the Americas schedule, they will immediately go to Japan. On April 25, 26 and 28, TWICE will make history as the first foreign artist to perform solo at the Tokyo National Stadium. Through this massive dome concert held with a 360-degree fully open view that removes sight restrictions, they are expected to demonstrate their world-class true colors by drawing a record audience of some 240,000 over three days.
